A Great Day!

A very big thank you goes out to all of you for making the "Sew for a Cure" Outdoor Quilt Show a huge success.

There were towels to pincushions... to dolls and stitcheries... and beautiful quilts of course.

The "Sew for the Cure" quilts were quite amazing as were the quilts and projects in the backyard for the student sharing.

To see more pictures of the quilts please visit our website...  They will be up soon.

Lots to see in the student sharing!
If you missed the show... we hope you can join us next year.

...and that's a wrap. We'll be visiting you again soon on the blog...

A whole lot of FALL kits

You know it is FALL from the minute you walk
into the LOFT because you are greeted by this wonderful wooden pumpkin headed man riding a crow...He is spectacular!  The crate under the table is filled with pumpkin shaped gourds....great to use throughout the whole autumn season....

This cupboard is to the right of the door and the lit jacks set the scene for lots of holiday fun.... Mindy made the fun pumpkin table runner that you see on the mustard table....It has a combination of stitched and appliqued wool felt pumpkins.  You can buy the pattern and the fabric in a kit for $20.95.....

Hanging above the table is a new store stitchery....Trick or Treat.....It was designed for this season and there is a kit ready for you to make....It is $12.95 and has all the fabric (including the back)....and the pattern.  You need to supply the pearl cotton and the work (fun) to make one of your own.

Many of our regular customers wait each season for our towel kits....and here is the newest.  For $6.95 you get the towel, wool felt, thread and pattern to make this holiday accent....It makes a great hostess gift (even if you just give the kit to one of your friends and let her make her own...:)))

Right next to our register we have hung some new fall patterns.  They all retail at $7.00....You can make WOOL JACKS; KIT KAT PUMPKIN: and WE'RE NOT SCARY.  We didn't kit these, but you will be able to use a lot of your scraps to make them.

Don't forget that our wool banner club is starting this month.  The kits will be ready for pick-up this weekend when you come for the Outdoor Quilt Show and Sew for the Cure Sale.....It all starts at 10 a.m. this Saturday morning, August 25th.

If you don't live near the Loft we are always glad to send kits and patterns your way....just email us or give us a call and we will set it up.

Susy took all of these great photos....(plus she made the sample for the wool banner club)....I definitely think she has a great eye!

It is cooling down today....maybe all our talk of fall has helped it along....Until next time...Jo Ann and Susy

LIttle Women and More

For many years now Leigh Greer and Donna King have been hosting our "Little Women" group.  Tina Rainer who has been a member from the beginning sent me these photos to share with all of you.  One Saturday a month (usually the first one) 25 (sometimes more and sometimes less) women come and take part in sharing and learning all about Jo Morton's methods of quilting and the Civil War.  Donna and Leigh have done a great job....and the waiting list for this class is a real indicator of that!

......and they are so nice they even make food to share each month.  Many of the treats are made from recipes of the mid 1800's.

.......and the members of the group share too!
Talk about a LOT of fun!  Everyone leaves inspired and ready to make up the pattern of the month.....

A few weeks ago we got Maggie Bonanomi's new book, "A Day at Sunny Brook" in the shop.  A few of the women who work at the Loft went to town with it....and we now have several samples to share ......It is like all of her books filled to the brim with fun things to make.  You'll love it.  We have several in stock, so call the shop and reserve your copy now.  For $26.95 you can take it home and start drooling (and maybe sewing too!)

Susy Boyer has been busy making samples for our WOOL BANNER CLUB.  We will be kitting them up and selling the great metal stands for them too!  The kits will be $15.95 each.....and there will be one a month starting later in August.  You'll want to be part of this fun!  The patterns are by Lily Anna Stitches.

"Hi", Susy here... "I have had so much fun making this project and I know you will too!" It's quick and easy and you'll have it hanging on your stand in no time."

We hope you are having fun checking out our blog each Monday.....soon we hope to visit you on other days too!  We'd love you to be a follower (it is just so exciting to see the numbers go up)......Stop by our website too at

Bye for now.....Happy Monday, Susy and Jo Ann
