Monday at the Loft

Happy Monday from The Country Loft.  It is bright and sunshiny out today.  A beautiful day in San Diego though it doesn't feel too much like Fall.  but..... We are all ready for Halloween!  There are still a few days left for Trick or Treating, so come on in and choose your "treat" out of our bowl and see what discount you get.....All Halloween decorations, patterns and fabric are also 25% off.

We have gotten the new Simple Life in.....It is full of wonderful Christmas....Houses decorated; yummy food and wonderful ornaments....You will want to add this magazine to your collection.  It is $9.95

.....and we have gotten in a few new books you'll love too.   "Stories in Stitches" is a beautifully produced book by Kansas City Star.  It introduces many quilts from Cass county Missouri and documents the history of them with a collection of stories.  If you like history and quilting you will love this book.

......and for those of you who are fans of Primitive Pieces by Lynda (Lynda Hall) you will want to own "Deck the Halls".  Her snowmen are about the cutest out there and I loved the whimsical birds scattered throughout.  Come in and make it yours!

....many of you have been waiting patiently (or maybe impatiently) for the arrival of the new Primitive Gathering fabric on the bolt.  Old Glory Gatherings has arrived! can add it to your collection in yardage; fat eights; fat quarters; charm packs.  There are great small prints that can be used in LOTS of different projects.

Today will be my last day to write the Country Loft blog.  It has been fun!  .....but keep on following because Susy, Jayne and ???? will be visiting you soon.....Bye for now....Jo Ann and Susy

Treats at the Loft

The Loft was busy last Friday with two Brown Bag classes.  Here I am bringing out all the kits.  No one in the class knows what they will be it is always fun to surprise them....:)))  The last Brown Bag will be November 16th....I have been designing them for at least 12 years, so I am ready for a break!

On  Saturday Tonee White came from Arizona to teach.  We are so lucky to have her as a teacher.  She joined us years ago in our old location and we all look forward to her visits....Look on our schedule for Vintage Club and come to her next class!  (Here she is with Susy)

Her design is in the middle and there are a few of the student's takes on it....It is always fun to put your own spin on a pattern....(The crazy quilt Santa belongs to Susy)

This is month 3 of the Wool Banner Club.....The kits are ready for pick-up......Kathy plans on them always being available by the 15th of each month.....Next month you will be moving onto the winter banners.....
It's now time to meet Tina.....Tina works on Tuesdays at the Loft.  She has been part of the Sit and Stitch group for years and years and been in charge of our Sew for the Cure Sale many of those.  For 18 years she owned her own shop, The Craft and Yarn Depot.

We are so lucky to have her as part of The Country Loft family.  She is a "gadget queen" and always knows what's new on the notion scene.  ......and on her travels in her motor home she is always on the lookout for new patterns and projects for us to do.....

.....this Saturday, October 27th when we start our Trick or Treat at the Loft she will be demonstrating one of these finds.  Come join her from 11-2 and learn how to make "pumpkin treats".....something fun to give for the fall holidays.

Treat days last until October 31st (we are closed Sunday)....Come from 10-5 and grab a treat....a percentage off your purchase or some free items.....Halloween goodies will be on SALE.
Kathy says that she'll have treats for your sweet tooth too!

My last day working at the Loft will be next Monday....Come on by and say hi.....

                         Happy Monday.....Jo Ann and Susy

A Whole Lot of Classes Going On

This Saturday,October 20 from 10 to 3, Tonee White is making the drive over from Arizona to teach a great Santa hanging....."The Christmas CEO"....It is such  fun and there are still a few spots left.....Call today and reserve your space......You will love using this treasure every holiday. ..

....and then the following Friday Deby is teaching Heart to Hands wonderful "Fall Roving"....Working with wool roving is a great stress reliever....If you haven't tried it, you will want to.  The class is October 26 from 10 to 2.....

Have you been looking for a sewing maching cover?  Tina will be teaching one on Saturday, October 27th from 10 to 4.  Your machine will be the best dressed on the block after you finish this project......and you can use the center block in all kinds of other projects....can't you just see pillows with it in the middle?

Every week I mention people who work at the Loft and tell you all the wonderful things they have been doing.....and you are probably wondering who they this week we will start posting photos of them!

First off I'd like you to meet Susy Boyer.  Susy is one of the newest employees at the Loft....but she has been a customer almost from the very first (over 24 years!)

Early last summer Susy started working Mondays with me....We have LOTS of fun.  I am training her to take over many of the jobs I do when I retire.....and she has taken on some of her own.  Here she is stitching away on month 3 of the Wool Banner Club.  Susy is the one who is making all the samples for it.  She also is the computer guru who planned the new class schedule....and she will be teaching "Wool Crazy" starting in January.

Susy will be working Mondays until the end of October and then she'll move to Wednesdays.  Come in and meet her!

Hope you are having a wonderful Monday.....If you are near the Loft today stop in for a visit.....

The Pajama Party

Last Thursday night the Loft hosted their second pj party.....I had to miss it because I was in Portland with grandkids....but LOTS of our customers fought the pre-Octoberfest parking nightmare to join Kathy and company for a great evening. ........

......Beth came all decked out in her "spider shoes"........ and we had
customers in pajamas and robes of every style.

.......and the make-it/take-it tables were full with people making pencil topper and clothespin pumpkin men.....

Kelly and Michelle made those and printed trick or treat bags too!

....Judy and Helen take time from their work...

.....and Shelly gave her bag a great hairdo!  (and don't you love her hairnet!!!!)

.......people had fun at the free tables and loved the prizes for the best jammies, etc.

.......and  they traveled long distances to get here for the fun.  Next time you will have to join us! We have lots of events coming up....come Trick or Treat with us on October 27 thru 31.....and mark your calendar for the Christmas Kit Day on November 10th.....

By the way, Susy took all these fun photos and sent them on to me....We had a few technical difficulties with posting on here we are today.  Hope you are having a great Wednesday......Susy and Jo Ann
