Celebration!

Retirement is looking good... make that "Great" on Jo Ann Mullaly...   Yes, she really did it!

We had the pleasure of spending the day with Jo Ann... we sewed, we laughed and we ate!

Many friends turned out to wish Jo Ann the best.

Owners of The Country Loft, Joe and Sharon Smith were on hand to celebrate too.

They presented Jo Ann with an antique log cabin crazy quilt.

When Jo Ann wasn't looking... all of her friends were busy signing the logs.

You can see by the look on her face, she was quite surprised and pleased.

Jo Ann... Thank you for all of the years of your wonderful classes... your inspiration... your amazing creativity... your helpfulness and guidance... your "cookies" yum... your beautiful smile and your laughter!

~Enjoy your Retirement

And... don't forget... The Loft is glowing with Christmas decorations... gifts... kits... fabric... patterns and more!

We will be closed for Thanksgiving.

We wish you and yours a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We're glad you stopped in today...see you soon ...

Christmas Party ~ Kit Day ~ Fun!

The Country Loft's Christmas Party ~ Kit Day was a big success thanks to all of you who came out to join us.
The cool windy weather put us all in the Christmas Spirit.

The decorations, trees, kits and ornaments all found good homes.  But for those of you that could not join us... we would like to share some pictures of the kits... that would love to find their way home with you!

We have our wool felt "Santa" store towel ready to go.

We have kitted Cheri Payne's "Merry Winter's Night"... from the Winter issue of "Primitive Quilts and Projects" magazine.

We are all in love with this new magazine full of wonderful primitive quilts and projects.
You'll want to be sure and get your copy and the kit too!

We made up a quick and easy table runner. It's made out of cotton homespun squares and the stars are large wool felt.
You'll have it together in no time!

... How about a cute little pillow stitchery called "Oh Christmas Tree"
It would make a quick gift for a friend or... how about yourself...

Here's one of our favorite kits...
the "Little Thread Catcher"

You only use two contrasting fabrics and 3 cute buttons to make it. Talk about fast and easy... you'll want to make more than one!

We have a lovely "Christmas Table Runner" made by "Jayne"

There's even a kit to cover your own boxes!
 How much fun it that!

And the last kit is this adorable pin cushion stitchery... stitched on an antique quilt.
It's one of my favorites!

We hope this gives you some ideas and gets you itchin' for some stitchin'

If you can't make it into the store... please contact us at ...
The Country Loft by phone - (619) 466-5411

Before we leave you today...

We want to let you know that The Loft is hosting a Retirement Party for our friend and teacher... Jo Ann Mullaly on November 16... this Friday from 2 - 4 p.m.
Please come by and say "Hi" to Jo Ann.

~We will have cake and refreshments too~

The Elve's are working hard!

If you visited The Country Loft this week, you saw busy elves moving furniture, putting up trees, stringing lights, making kits, cutting fat quarters... and the list goes on.

We are getting ready for Saturday's "Christmas Kit Day"
November 10th from 10 to 5

Lead Elf in charge is our store manager Kathy Reppenhagen.
Oh, and did I mention... today is her birthday!

Happy Birthday Kathy!

Two sister's visiting San Diego for a family reunion came by to see the shop this week ...and to get up close and personal with Jo Ann's "Wool Crazy" quilt.

Jennifer on the left is from Pennsylvania
...and her sister Wendy on the right is from Massachusetts.

We're so glad they stopped by... we loved meeting them.
We look forward to your next visit.

The Elves are looking forward to Saturday... hope you all make it to the "Christmas Kit Day"

A Great Monday Morning!

A Great Monday morning to everyone!

Today I am flying solo... without my wing man or woman, in this case. As many of you already know, Jo Ann Mullaly has retired from working here at the Loft on Monday mornings. She is now out there enjoying her much deserved time off with her newly retired husband Gene. We wish them much fun in their travels together.

Of course we twisted Jo Ann's arm just a little bit... and she says she will return in the new year as a guest teacher. We will all be watching for her classes. Thanks Jo Ann!

Let's talk about those Country Loft classes.

Leigh Greer and Donna King held their "Little Women" meeting this past Saturday. Again, they had a beautiful quilt to share.

..... We just love the way they put all of those little blocks together.

...... Donna and Leigh share the history of the quilt blocks and bring a sampling of food dating from the same time period.

We appreciate all of our "Little Women" group.

.... Here is an amazing past project made and shared by Debbie Lothspeich. Way to go Debbie!

We love seeing everyone's creativity. Check out the center of Debbie's quilt.

..... Yes, those are all hand appliqued teeny tiny circles in the middle.

This week we will be gearing up for our "Christmas Kit Day"
Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 10th from 10 to 5.

We'll have Kits... Stitcheries... Ornaments... Folk Art Decorations
..... and Wonderful Trees that you have come to love from the Country Loft.

Here's to a great week... thanks for stopping by... Susy
